Introduction:

When the air gets polluted by dust, smoke, automobiles, mills and factories etc., it is called air pollution. We know that air is an important part of our environment. But it is a pity that it is contaminated every day for various reasons.

Causes of Air Pollution:

There are several types of reasons for air pollution. The causes of air pollution are described below.

1. Use of poison in agriculture:

In agriculture, farmers often use insecticides, pesticides and fertilizers, etc. These get mixed with the air and cause air pollution.

2. Burning fossil fuels:

One of the main causes of air pollution is the burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil and other industrial fuels. The smoke from vehicles such as buses, trucks, jeeps, cars, trains, planes, etc. causes air pollution.

3. Industrial smoke:

There are mills and factories in every corner of the world that produce a large amount of harmful gases such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons etc which are the main causes of air pollution.

4. Indoor activities:

Different types of household activities such as cleaning products, washing, painting, etc. emit different types of toxic chemicals into the air and cause air pollution.

Effects of air pollution:

The different types of negative and harmful effects of air pollution are given below:-

1. Global warming:

Air pollution is a major cause of global warming which results in rising sea levels, melting icebergs, loss of habitats etc.

2. Causes disease:

The effects of air pollution are very harmful to health. It causes different types of respiratory diseases like asthma, bronchitis etc. Every year millions of people around the world die from the direct or indirect effects of air pollution.

3. Acid rain:

Acid rain is another effect of air pollution. When fossil fuels are burned, harmful gases are released into the atmosphere. When it rains, the water droplets combine with these gasses and become acidic, and then fall to the ground as acid rain. Acid rain can seriously damage people, animals and plants.

4. Depletion of the ozone layer:

Air pollution depletes the ozone layer. Ozone is responsible for protecting humans from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. The earth's ozone layer is depleted by the presence of chlorofluorocarbons in the atmosphere.

Conclusion:

We can say that now is the right time to protect air pollution. We have to stop air pollution to create a better living space for humans and nature.
